How to make it

  1. 1Combine sugar and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan.
  2. 2Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  3. 3Reduce heat and simmer until all sugar is dissolved.
  4. 4Remove from heat and cool.
  5. 5In an aging container, combine apricot halves, almond extract, grain alcohol with 1/2 cup water, and brandy.
  6. 6Stir in cooled sugar syrup mixture.
  7. 7Cap and let age for 2 days.
  8. 8Remove apricot halves. (Save apricot halves, can be used for cooking).
  9. 9Add food coloring and glycerine.
  10. 10Stir, recap and continue aging for 1 to 2 months.
  11. 11Re-bottle as desired.
  12. 12Liqueur is ready to serve but will continue to improve with additional aging.
